So my opinion of this season is that if CR was truly the Alpha Male that KW always said he was in that not only was he the best player at his position that he also made everyone else better that the coaches bet too much on an often and seriously injured player to play all season and elevate the overall team…having said that, I’m very glad that the 2008 Utes remain the most recently undefeated team hailing from Utah.

And as always, Go Utes and beat the Cyclones!

It’s true, Whittingham gambled on Rising and it failed specatularly.

Personally, I’m good with the gamble. If Rising had stayed healthy this year, it could have been an incredible ride. However, not only did it turn out to be a bad gamble, it was handled in the worst way. Now that we have seen what Rose can do, it seems as though he should have been QB2 from the get go. (And credit to Rose, he was far better than I expected.)

Moreover, both Cam and Rose played for extended periods of time on season ending injuries, which in each case ensured a loss. That’s not just dumb, that’s reckless.

I love Whitt and am grateful for all the incredible years he gave us. But he has broken our offense beyond what he can repair. And while Rising was the catalyst that brought the issue to the surface, the issue is and has always been Whitt.
