ParticipantI was wondering, with all the uncertainty going around, eligibility now a days, will Singer get another year, possibly? I thought he was one of the shining stars of this year. I would love for him to get one more year.

ParticipantI’d be shocked if he doesn’t! Seems like all you have to do is sneeze and fart at the same time and prove it to the judge and they’ll give you an extra year of eligibility back.

ParticipantIs the basis that in 2021 at UA he only played 5 games? That you could redshirt if only 4 were played (yet a bowl game doesn’t count against that, so you could have 5 – in his case, he played 5 regular season games)? He played 4 seasons in 4 years, no JUCO, no covid year (1 year too late). Any other arguments?
Just sue and make it that you can be eligible for up to X games, not seasons … NCAA will then put something else out – 4 seasons, but then medical redshirt, or 4 games or less don’t count, or you can play up to 60 games unless the aforementioned injury. And if you were JUCO, that doesn’t count. And if you want a 9th year, yeah, that’s probably ok too …

The Miami Ute
ParticipantI don’t know. He’s got enough talent that he might want to take a shot at the NFL. Just two seasons ago, he was a 1st Team All PAC 12 WR…

ParticipantI believe he’s expressed interest in returning to Utah for one more year to play with his half brother Dampier, to the point of applying for another year of eligibility to the NCAA.

Participantthey are not siblings. they are just friends.
he calls him his “older brother” because of their brother-like relationship

ParticipantMeh, I have cousins that call close family friends aunt/uncle and their cousins, moreso than me and my siblings, cousins by blood. Whether bio (not), step (not), or just close, family is broader than blood. But maybe better to just say playing with a close friend, like some others that were here (Huntley, Simpkins from same HS)

ParticipantSinger was a great play-maker and it’s unfortunate he had one lone TD. If he has a good QB throwing the ball and a few other quality receivers running routes (so opponent has several targets they need to focus on) has the potential for great numbers should he stay.

ParticipantUtahs QB last season was so poorly managed and riddled with injuries so much so that he should automatically be granted another year of eligibility. Lol

Participantthis article says he’s using the JuCo tactic that Diego Pavia used. But he didn’t play in JuCo. I think the 5 games and/or Devon Dampier relationship would be it. Or he just says he wants 1 more to try and make the NFL or something. Anyways, I hope he does. The receiver core is looking great this year, Otto Tia, Creed Whitmore, and Ryan Davis are pretty good transfers. Daidren Zipperer and Zacharyus Williams looked good last year when they played. Plenty of guys who haven’t actually had real playing time (David Washington played a few snaps, Luca Caldarella played a lot but mainly on power runs) and good recruits. so at minimum 3 good receivers and at best 6+, adding Dorian back would be crazy good. Devon Dampier would have much better receivers than he did at NM and he would probably cut down the INT’s if he got those guys. So I’m hoping he does.
