They showed up today and played school yard ball, with school yard refs and hung around with a Utah defense that matched their energy.
Cam and the offense kept the raft afloat and bailed the team out today.
Special teams tried to gift another win to the home team.
I needed about 20 minutes to be p**sed off, but now I’m just content with the win and ready for next Saturday.
Bring on the Ducks!!
I wasn’t going to get p**sed no matter what happened, because after Aaron Lowe was murdered I promised I would just be grateful that the team is strong enough to press on, and I intend to honor that promise. The fact that they’re putting together a good season is just gravy.
You are a better man than I. I promised myself that too, but I couldn’t help get a little ticked off today. Though I still have refrained from singling out one player in an overly negative way. Win for me I guess.
I agree and like your perspective. After the SDSU loss I felt much the same way (but that was after coming down from being so mad) and then Aaron was taken the next week. So after that, I was fine after the OSU loss.
Whatever this team gives is a gift and ultimately, this is one of my most favorite Utah teams ever!!
I’m finding that the punt game and special teams makes me debase my better self for a little bit.
That game was painful to watch…embarrassing. Hopefully the silver lining is it will serve as a wake up call prior to the Oregon game. How we allow that Arizona team to put up 30 pts on us is ridiculous. I think our defense missed the flight to Tucson. And I’m to the point where I’d rather see us go for it on 4th and long on our own 2 yard line (Kalani style) than having one more f***ing punt blocked…what a joke!
I realize we got the W and that’s all that matters, but good hell!! Lots that need to be fixed before next week.
It was painful. However, we used to lose trap/no show games more often than not. We’ve been avoiding WTF losses more recently and I attribute a lot of that to Huntley and Rising…better QB play.
We had zero momentum following the punt block TD. Old Utah would have put it on the run game and defense to try to win by 2. New Utah marches 75 yards in 6+ minutes for a close out TD, progress.
