In the first few games this season, we benefitted from some interference calls and on similar plays Saturday, those calls weren’t made. Indeed very probably their DC told them, when in doubt, hit them early to break up the play and keep doing it until the call is made.
On a tangent, after our TD with Zona starting deep in their territory with the crowd going wild making a lot of noise, our defense had the “delay of game” call to make it first and five and after a few short gains Zona was able to move the sticks, and then, well we all saw what happened next. That was the second delay call and our defense should have known the refs were looking for that type of infraction.
