This is the problem with Utah… Absolutely no friggin’ respect from a National perspective. Utah has had a terrible offense since joining the Pac-12, yet have somehow managed to win 10-9 games the past three seasons and have been ranked in every CFP poll since its inception. Yes, there were two 5-7 seasons but Utah was still in transition from the MWC. Not any more.

If Arizona with one guy (QB Dawkins) and a bunch of Freshman can beat Utah then we as Ute fans better be ready for a horrible season. I would be a bit worried if it were Alabama with a bunch of Freshman but Arizona IS NOT Alabama.
      Any thoughts?

First, the game is at Arizona. Second, it sure doesn’t help that Utah shoots its own foot frequently (e.g. CU, Cal, Oregon).

Plus, speaking of young players, Utah has plenty of them in the secondary; and, SJSU’s Love/Gaither combo had plenty of pitch-and-catch against our secondary. As far as receiving corps goes, so far, Carrington is the only one. Sure, Nacua and Wilson have potential, but I don’t think they’ve arrived. Utah’s o-line has been average thus far, at best. Our overall defense may be pretty good, let’s see how they play against a more athletic team and whether they can stay disciplined against a zone-read offense.

I think we’ll have a better idea after Friday. My 2 cents.

Utah does it to itself all too often.  That weak ass Ooc doesnt help either but you can’t control how good your opponent’s are. Utah was forced to play Byu.

Utah loses this game if the ‘D’ allows Dawkins to extend drives with his legs. Contain him and make him beat you with his arm. Honestly, I have no doubt Utah’s offense moves the ball efficiently against that very ‘green’ Arizona defense.

Here at Utah, moving the ball and scoring are two different things. haha

Vegas line up to -4 -115 which says it’s leaning to 4.5.  They’re missing their best D-lineman as well.  Good news with sharp money coming in on the Utes.  Phil Steele has the Utes winning… plenty of National pundits picking us in this game.  Have to admit it’s a little scary but honestly  which Pac12 game isn’t this year??

We’re young too man…gonna lose some games but will be top 15 preseason next year and the year after if we win 8+ games this year especially if Huntley continues to play well…hopefully that’ll cure your recognition blues.
