ParticipantAlmost 6 minutes in and haven’t yet scored our first B12 points.
Off to a great start.

ParticipantStarters are 2 of 16 from the field late in the first half (12.5 percent)
National League pitchers (before they finally added the DH rule a few years ago) usually had higher batting averages.

Participant37-17 halftime lol. Completely outclassed. Looks like varsity vs sophomores.
Edit: Note that one of our more talented players (Little) is a Baylor reject who shot 0-9, 0 pts in 25 min.

ParticipantHarlan and Smith:

The Miami Ute
ParticipantIs this a surprise to anyone? We’ve been saying for weeks that this team is about as unathletic and lacking in fundamentals as any in the P4. Maybe, if they’re lucky, the Utes will win half their conference home schedule. They will surely lose every away game against any semi-competent competition.
But don’t worry…Smith will get a pass because it’s the Utes’ inaugural season in the Big XII and the team needs at least a season to adjust to the competition.

ParticipantWell there is that one delusional fan on here who thinks Gabe can play for anyone, Wahlin is like Alex Jensen, Ausar is a stud who Branden Carlson would’ve benefited from playing with, we will finish higher than TDS in conference and will make the tourney lol. I hope they’ll be on here owning how wrong they were at the end of the season, but I’m going to go out on a limb and predict they’ll be MIA. They did teach me something though: that you can watch a sport for 50+ years and still not develop more than a superficial understanding of it.

The Miami Ute
ParticipantYeah, I know who you’re talking about. He’s the guy who was just looking at the overall record and not seeing how the team was playing or the low quality of the opponents. I call him the “rainbows and sprinkles” guy. The thing is that, no matter how badly Utah does the rest of the season, Craig Smith is not getting fired. We’ll have him around for at least one more season before Harlan pulls the plug on him.

Lol, perfect

ParticipantFiring Smith now won’t solve anything because Harlan will be doing the hiring.

ParticipantAre we sure it’s Harlan? Seems like Utah has struck out with every basketball hire since Majerus stepped away. Coach K was about the only one that, at least for a couple of seasons, was able to pull the Utes out of mediocrity. It’s basketball. It shouldn’t be that hard to put together a team to make the NCAAs.

ParticipantIt is a start. I am sure it is more than one thing.

Participantdont think he’s being delusion but sarcastic to the point they know like most of us, nothing will change as long as Smith and Harlan are still employed at the UofU

ParticipantYeah the only way this team wins any big12 games is if they really catch fire happens about once or twice a year for any basketball team from AAU to the NBA, so I’ll predict 1-2 conference wins

ParticipantThe pre-season predictions of a dead-last conference finish seem pretty right to me at this point.

ParticipantThe Mens program is an afterthought on the hill right now. From the top down Randall, Harlan, NIL boosters all focus is on the football program.
Football drives the bus. It pays the bills and it gets the national eyeballs.
It’s what will get Utah into the big10 and that is the universities ultimate goal right now as it should be.
So with that said Utah might win 3 or 4 conference games this season and finish last in the big12 and Craig Smith will be back next season with minimal athletic department and NIL support.
Get used to some bad basketball for the foreseeable future
