IT”S GAME DAY. GO UTES!!!!!!!!!! Let’s see what they can do on the road( so called neutral court) against a descent Mississippi State team.
-
EagleMountainUteParticipant
On ESPN 2 as well.
-
EagleMountainUteParticipant
Great first half. Mississippi State missed quite a few easy layups.
Defense is really frustrating MS.
-
AnferneeParticipant
I’ve been telling people. This team will surprise a lot of people. Great showing through one half.
-
The Miami UteParticipant
Double-digit lead over a team that’s been to the NCAAs the past two seasons, playing away, and with Gabe Madsen being ice cold, not too shabby…
-
EagleMountainUteParticipant
Going to need him soon. This run and gun offense works.
-
-
Rick WalkerParticipant
Second half not looking too hot. I don’t know if this team can overcome adversity on the road, especially if the shots aren’t falling. But we shall see
-
Rick WalkerParticipant
Also a lot of weak fouls being called. Our whole team might foul out by the end of this game.
-
EagleMountainUteParticipant
It is so wildly inconsistent in College basketball.
-
-
EagleMountainUteParticipant
Weird game management to end the game. Lot of empty possessions that didn’t work.
Really good showing against a good team. -
GameForAnyFussParticipant
As I’ve said before, this is Gabe Madsen’s team. We go as he goes. And when he goes 10% from 3, we’re not going to go well. If Gabe shoots his season average, we win this game by 15.
Also, Miss St’s point guard made Hunter Ericksen look like the Hunter Ericksen we all know on defense.
-
Rick WalkerParticipant
Honestly Miss St’s PG has a really quick first step and took advantage of the five out offense when we didn’t have anyone playing inside. Erickson is just slower than that guy and the defense has to adjust, someone’s job has to be to drop down and force a kick out.

Rick WalkerParticipant
This Utah team might not win a road game all year unless they can rebound and get to the line (and knock down free throws). I was impressed in how close they kept it without the three going in all that much especially from Gabe Madison but just wayyy too many fouls down the stretch. No reason your opponent should have more than double the amount of free throws as you.
-
The Miami UteParticipant
Vintage Craig Smith…opposing team makes adjustments at halftime and Utah doesn’t…also, and this is an issue since Larry K times, opponents go on a full-court press and the offense goes to hell in a handbasket. Nothing bothers me more than possessions where you can’t even get a shot off…and Utah had too many of those, plus missing easy shots and missing foul shots, to win against a good team. State almost doubled its point production in the second half (50 to 28) and you’re not going to win many games letting that happen.
-
EagleMountainUteParticipant
It seems like every time I watch Utah basketball as well teams come out at half and either erase a lead or extend it. It is quite crazy to watch the team go completely cold for 3-4 minutes out of the half.
-
Rick WalkerParticipant
Both teams had similar bonehead mistakes (missing easy/foul shots, dumb turnovers, etc) but what really helped Mississippi state pull away was the amount of free throws they had. Both teams missed some free throws but when your shoot almost 40 FTs you’re almost never gonna lose especially if the other team shoots less than 15

CBB refs can go f*$k themselves
-
Sir PotsdamParticipant
Agreed.
