ParticipantHis commentary was so positive. It wasn’t for everyone, but I looked forward to him working a game. His basketball career was fantastic. Shortened by injuries or who knows how many records he could have broken. RIP.

ParticipantI liked the way he prepared for the game and venue that he was reporting on. He could describe information on the school, the venue and surrounding area, and coaches and players. When he was assigned to a Utah game, he would describe the wonderful mountains and surrounding area that the “U” campus was located on. Rest in peace Bill.

ParticipantMet him after a basketball game at the Hunty a few years back. Dude was super genuine and even offered to take a photo together. Rest in peace!

ParticipantI’m with Tony in that I wasn’t a huge fan. I did appreciate his positivity and love for basketball and the Pac12. Condolences go out to his family and loved ones. RIP

ParticipantI always liked Bill Walton and his bombastic style. He definitely wasn’t for everyone but definitely was for me. I always hoped to run into him at one of the Ute games but it never happened. Fly high Bill, I’ll check in with you on the other side.

ParticipantHe was a great player! One of the smartest centers to play the game. Years ago I went to a Grateful Dead concert at USANA. There was Bill front and center dancing from start to finish. Always positive and lived life to the highest degree.
I have to agree with Tony as a color analyst I had to turn the sound off the last couple years. He was a remarkable man and player. RIP Bill Walton

ParticipantMay his spirit soar over the mighty Wasatch mountains, turn majestically over the Uintahs towards Mount Tukuhnikivatz. May it glide gracefully towards the Californian sun and be bathed in warm ocean water. May it be reunited with Jerry Garcia and other timeless poets who have with word and music made our lives better lived.
That was my attempt at a Walton-ism.
Bill was unique and authentic and was a welcome break from the canned hairdo of many broadcasters. Although it could wear on you after awhile. He will be missed. RIP!-

ParticipantThe mention of the Uintas and immediate shift to a peak in the La Sals was absolutely something Walton would have done. His style wasn’t for everyone but it was certainly distinct.
