In honor of the joke “I didn’t have that one on my bingo card”, it seems like we should be able to come up with 25 things that have happened so far this season which no one would have deemed possible in August. Here’s a handful off the top of my head:

1. Utah will be in a dogfight with Oklahoma State for the worst record in the conference
2. Baylor will be Utah’s best win in 2024
3. Utah will lose at least 3 QB’s to season ending injury
4. Bryson Barnes’ QB play in 2023 will be remembered favorably
5. Utah will lose at least 6 games in a row
6. Whitt will accept Andy Ludwig’s resignation for any reason other than health

7. That fans would be calling for Whitt to retire.

8. BYU would go undefeated and end up ranked top 5.

9. Rice Eccles will not be homefield advantage, especially at night

10. 2024 would be even harder on fans than the frustrating 2023 season.

11. Instead of riding off into the sunset after a Big12 title and CFP run, Whitt rode into the Twilight Zone.

12. Two years removed from winning the second of two consecutive PAC titles, Utah is in contention for worst P4 program in the nation. Those Rising-led victories feel like they happened last century.

13. My 85 year old grandma has more lateral speed and explosiveness than Lander Barton.

14. If Utah replayed it’s full schedule starting tomorrow, the only likely win is the game versus SUU. I hardly watched any of today’s game because I was in Logan watching Utah State dismantle Hawaii 55-10. I’d favor the Aggies head to head versus Utah if the game was played next Saturday.
