      Good looking safety.

Alright, I’ll be that guy. Safety from USC? Can he tackle?

If he’s that talented I’m sure Scalley and company will get him straightened out on the fundamentals.

Don’t think day 1 starter, Onlyu said we were looking for depth at safety and this is the guy. He’s not going to look/be as qualified as Bishop/Vaki/Ritchie because he’s coming in to back them up.

10-4. I’m pretty excited to see Vaki alongside Bishop.

Pretty much all the DB room is lacking is a true centerfielder (Marcus Williams, Reggie Porter type). If this kid can allow Vaki to play the hybrid nickel (think Nephi 2021) it’s a good pickup. Moving Vaki, Ritchie or Bishop to Free will work but it’s not a natural position for any of them

I would take Marcus Williams every year for 25 years if I could.

Didn’t Ritchie play and ballhawk at free in HS?

He may have but the positions play differently at the college level. Ritchie certainly excelled in the same role Bishop has been in the last two seasons which in Scalley’s D requires more a SS skillset.

Your typical HS receiver probably runs around a 4.7, TE’s in the seam aren’t as much of a threat and QB’s aren’t as capable of hitting their targets. In HS I deliberately stayed 10 yards away from anyone in my zone trying to bait throws. My general rule of thumb with HS QB’s was that the safest place to be in the stadium was wherever they were aiming.

With you .. any defensive transfer from USC isn’t knocking my socks off .. but I trust our development and coaching

Our development and coaching will teach him how to play football, not wave a towel on the sideline.

We can teach him, maybe. 🙂

It seems to be another option in a spot coach was concerned with. We want to play the best two of several and have 2s and 3s that are as ready as all possible.
