Our bye weeks could not be spread out better.
We play 5 weeks to open the season, with the 4th of those 5 games being against an FCS team, before our first bye in week 6. Then we play 4 games and have another bye in week 11 before playing the final 3 (maybe 4?) games of the regular season.
USC, on the other hand, gets essentially one bye week this year (week 6) because their second bye week is the last week of the regular season. If they win the South, this will be a huge advantage for them going into the CCG, but if they don’t . . . that sucks for them.
Arizona might have the most ideal bye week setup in the conference as they get 3 bye weeks this year. They open the season @ Hawaii on “Week 0” then have a bye during week 1, play Northern Arizona and Texas Tech in weeks 2 and 3, then have their second bye in week 4. They will be the freshest team in the country come week 5. Then they play 6 weeks straight before having their third bye in week 11 before finishing out their final 3 games.
