They’re going to be pretty disappointed when Jay Hill inevitably ends up at Utah and brings his recruits with him.

TSPP had their best recruiting class yet. But they are only ahead because they signed 23 players where as we signed 18. If you go by 24/7, their avg high school players are 85.38, Utah is 86.71. They signed 2 transfers at 88.5 average, and we signed 4 at 88.75.
All those #s could change if either team picks up more. -

Signing day is kind of even more pointless. Most likely these kids will never play for their teams first year and I fully expect a lot of them to transfer.
Even Isaac Wilson! (Unless he isn’t a safety)
But congrats to shaking your hands at internet strangers.

This. Maybe 3-4 FR have impact this year. Their 2 transfers are Weber. Our 4 are GT, UCLA, Idaho, BYU. They may have more impact (they better!).
Consistency over years (and not just numbers) is what makes a team better. And coaching/development. An average of 87 vs 86 is like having 3 extra 4* rather than 3*. Over time it adds up.

This is the most important ranking for attracting talent imo..transfer portal has become equally as important as high school recruiting

They didnt. So they didn’t recruit many offensive players. Must be satisfied with their current offense.

BYU is dead last in HS avg player recruiting in the B12. They are second to last when combined with transfers for avg recruit ranking.
They are a fan base that does the most trash talking and puts up the most hype when it makes the least amount of sense to do so. Yes they have improved their recruiting – I’ll give them that.
They think illogically about moving up recruiting in the conference. It’s much easier to improve when you are at the bottom. There’s much more “resistance” so to speak at the top.
They will think that it should be easy to move from an 86 avg ranking to 88 and that it would be like going from 84 to 86. But logically, to do that they would have to go from nearly the worst in conf to nearly the best. Few programs can go from the bottom of a conf to the top – at least not quickly.
They will brag about winning most head to head recruits with Utah, but ignore Utah wins all of the top five instate against them. It’s like Utah picking up five one-dollar bills while they brag about BYU picking up fifteen pennies.

They do this EVERY off season. They’re legit always thinking they win the off season. First it was Kalani and Detmer after Bronco left. Then they won with the Grimes hire. Then they won with the Fesi hire. They won the in state LB recruiting battle when Bywater committed. They won with the Kingsley transfer. They won with Slovis. Rinse and repeat they believe they win/have the better off season. We have a better class average, we got the better instate recruits. They can keep doing this every year. We’ll be fine.

You hit the nail in the coffin! Those BYU Twitter narccists ALWAYS in competition with Utah to see whose thing is BIGGER! Then when the season begins they are humbly brought back down to earth in a massive way and Utah just plays ball and lets its performance on the field do the talking. Go UTES!

They are back to claiming February championships over Utah, so I did some digging. I kept seeing they won 11/17 head to head recruits with Utah. While that number is true, here’s the story. The dash lines are players that BYU signed with a Utah offer
Isaiah Garcia OL- .9118 – BYU offer
–Ikinasio Tupou OL – .8578 (small class, much rather have Garcia)Isaac Wilson QB – .9070 – BYU offer
–Carson SueSue QB/ATH -8544Davis Andrews S – .8797 BYU offer
Jeilani Davis S – .8786 (Colorado, USC, UCLA)
Rabbit Evans S – .8581
Luke Bryant S – 84 BYU offerZach Williams WR – .8825 (USC, UW, UA, ASU)
David Washington WR – .8825 BYU offer
–Tei Nacua WR – .8444 (C’mon now – He wasn’t coming here)Hunter Andrews LB/ATH – .8828 (Texas, TAMU)
Ashtin Lopes LB – .8678 (UW, OreSU)
–Ephraim LB – .8614 (Not a loss for reasons I won’t detail)
–Adney Reid LB – .8478 (They seem to have gone all in on Defense)Kash Dillon E – .8697 BYU offer
John Henry Daley E – 87 trf BYU player
–Devoux Tuataga E – .87863 (Small class – Him or Kash Dillon)
–Kinilau Fonohema E -.8628
–Siosefa Brown E – .8469
–Sani Tuala E – .8417
–Vili Pouha E -.8444 (Premission Utah Signee, Sione works for Kalani)Carsen Ryan TE– 90trf
–Ryner Swansen TE – .9087Utah Class average- 87.54
BYU Class average- 85.48Maybe two of those kids (Devoux Tuataga and Ryner Swanson) would have been preferred over recruits we signed? 5 of their 11 H2H “wins” were DE’s, which is NOT a position of need for Utah (and mostly all lower rated than Kash Dillon or JHD, except Devoux) 5 more were in positions where we signed a much better recruit (or 2)
We’re still going H2H for Faletau Satuala at S/ATH, which is leaning Utah

Great point about Kash. Personally I expect him to make the move to TE because he started playing a significant amount of TE this year and played it well, but that’s just my opinion
