We use a ROKU for our TV stuff, ESPN etc. My internet is completely down so can’t watch the Bama/Wash game. Vivint sucks ass. Do not use them. Terrible customer service. They’ve been promising to fix it since before Christmas. I’m hotspotted on my phone now, and have used up my data plan X3 now.

Might I suggest switching to T-Mobile for unlimited mobile data and then tether? You do have to pay extra for official tethering but in SLC proper, T-Mobile is good for 50 megs down and 19 megs up.

Thanks. I happen to really like Verizon, but I did like T-Mobile in the past.

Never use Vivint anything. It’s terrible and their customer service is out to screw you.

Totally agree. This experience has been very disppointing and full of broken promises from speed of the connection to when they promised to fix the issue. Finally they stopped promising when it would be fixed and just said “I don’t know.” Nice.

Having worked there I would say it is probably the worst company. Period. You might need to start threatening to drop them. That’s the only time they act. If that doesn’t work you might need an attorney. They are that bad.

I’d do a sports bar in a heartbeat, except I have a 4-year-old.

I knew that, and why I suggested Wild Wings they have a semi family feel. Anyway I do appreciate you and this site, and I am wishing you a very happy new year. I need to put this site on the payroll, still recovering from you know who. Go Utes!

By this point, I would have already switched to another provider if I were you.

Yes yes. The alternatives are: Century Dink (centurylink), who I will NEVER work with again. Crapcast. Their product was reliable but their customer service was bad. And a few very poorly rated small time providers.
I’m leaning to going back to crapcast.
The choice is kind of like our presidential race, picking the best of the worst.

Comcast home internet is hit/miss depending on your area. If you’re able to afford the $99 monthly fee, I would highly recommend their business class internet. No data caps, guaranteed 99.999% availability, if you have an issue requiring a technician to fix they have a 4 hour SLA to get someone to your house 24×7, if you call in for support you go straight to tier 2 and skip all the reset your modem crap, dedicated line, etc.

Guess who now has a new, old internet provider? Just s8%t canned Vivint. Back to Crapcast. Now streaming the Clemson/Ohio State game. I got set up so fast it’s insane. Called Crapcast, went to Best Buy and bought a new modem/wifi, back home, running in minutes. Should have done it sooner.
Vivint can go f*(k themselves.
