  Got some treatment today so we’ll see how he responds the next 24 (disk issue). Thompson and Bernard should be ready to step in and if it means Chase heals up for the stretch run I think we can weather the Bruins without him if he can’t go.

  I hope he can just get healthy for Oregon, Bernard and Thompson should be able to hold down the fort for the next two games and Barton has been a pleasant surprise in pass coverage.

    Mariner will play. Not sure how much though. He’s fine health wise but Enis and Simpkins ahead on the depth chart based on the last few weeks.
    
    Chase made the trip so this isn’t something that’s a major issue right now. Just have to get the swelling down to control the irritation. Hopefully he reacts quickly to the steroid and is back to normal soon.

      Seems to me like Mariner is a possible transfer candidate being A RS JR and not having to sit out a year. Him and maybe 1 more WR.

        Always guys unhappy with playing time or their role. The guys who pull the trigger and leave usually aren’t contributing much though.
        
        Dont like my high school coach…transfer, Don’t like my college coach…transfer, don’t play enough…transfer, Don’t like my travel team…jump ship, Don’t like my role on the team…quit!

      Maybe “scared” wasn’t the best word. But UCLA is feeling like a dangerous game to me. Short week, on the road, coming off an emotional win, all that jazz.
      
      I really think that LB play is going to be huge in our defensive gameplan. Chip Kelly likes to run the ball and UCLA has one of the best TEs in the PAC. Not having Hansen in at LB could prove to be a big blow to our defense.
      
      I’m not saying I don’t believe in Bernard or our other 2nd/3rd string LBs, but as of now they are unproven commodities. Chase is one of the best LBs in the PAC. I’m saying not having him in the game is just one other thing that makes me feel like this game could be closer than most people on this site expect.
