For my fellow old timers, maybe the Utes should bring back the Circus Defense (which I believe debuted against THE tds), and the Duck formation for this game Saturday night.

Whatever it takes…GO UTES…BEAT THE tds!!

By the way, I consider someone to be a Ute fan old timer if they were in person in Rice Stadium for the 1989 Scott Mitchell beat down of the cougars!

Or, if you actually were in person for the streaker game against UTEP on that rainy, cold, miserable day when the only bright spot was watching the naked lady run out and lie down in the middle of the field.

Yup, that’s what I’m referring to.

Maybe we should hire Mitchell as QB coach. That offense was fun to watch. The defense was as bad as the offense was good.

I was there. I think it was that game that we had a linebacker blitz right up the middle that byu missed. Our LB creamed Covey. Just destroyed him. We were freaking out at how awesome the hit was that we didn’t even notice Covey’s pass was intercepted.

Isn’t that the hit they claim ruined Covey’s career?

Never heard about that, but wouldn’t surprise me.

Back in the good old days when you could bring in a thermos of Ute juice for the cold weather games.

The final play of the circus defense didn’t go so well for us, though, with Harline still being open and all. That is one of my least favorite plays of all time.

I do like the idea of trying something off-the-wall to throw them off, though. The Duck will always have a special place in my heart.
