The most important thing is that Whitt got rid of his mullet. In fact his hair is shorter than I have ever seen it. 🙂
Coach said Kuithe is three months ahead of Cam in rehab and should be ready to go. He hedged on Cam and said that we have five weeks to see if he is ready. Who knows what the coach was trying to say. Is he hedging to keep opposing coaches off-guard? Or is Cam just not yet ready?
He said that things have changed over the years and statistically speaking, offense is more important to winning than defense. He indicated that he is a defensive-minded guy, but you need to be flexible and they are focussing more on offense than they may have done in the past.
He said that he likes the concept of the NIL, but that they need some rules and guidelines. He feels that Congress needs to take action because the NCAA is not capable of addressing it.
Someone asked coach if losing UCLA and USC will hurt SoCal recruiting. He said it will change things but that they will continue to recruit SoCal as much as they always have.
Some dude from Vegas who admittedly is a USC fan asked Cam if the momentum in the championship game changed because Williams got injured. Cam seemed bothered by the question and said that we don’t know what is going on the other side. We just go about doing the things we need to do.
Cam said JJ is committed to Ute football and he is a great guy to have on the team.
Cam feels that they have the receivers to have a great passing game in 2023.
Cam talked about what he does to help with recruiting SoCal kids to Utah.
Cole said the biggest game in 2023 for him is Florida because the defense played so poorly last year. He has revenge on his mind.
Cam and Cole seem fine with the Utes not being picked to win the conference. They said that we will see what happens on the field.
