Craig Smith seems to have been a great hire so far

Marco Anthony is going to be HUGE for this team. 6 ft 5 guard has 25 rebounds in 2 games.

I think we traded up or at least came out even with pretty much every player that left. Mahorcic, Gach, Jenkins, Worster, and Anthony are all talented guys.

I’m excited to see how they perform against better competition. I think there is a lack of athleticism compared to the top half of the Pac12, but that isn’t any different than it has been the last few years.

I went to the game tonight and it’s a fun brand of basketball to watch. You can see and feel the bond the team has already developed. I really like Coach Smith and what he has done in the short term along with him being a great interview. Go Utes

Yeah, our whole group is floored by how many rebounds Anthony gets. He’s a glass eater…one of those guys who just knows where to be to get rebounds. That said, I still think rebounding will be our Achilles’ heel in conference play. Teams with size are going to kill us on the boards.

But I really like the direction this team is heading. It will be interesting to see how they improve this year. And if the Carlson we saw last night is the Carlson we’re going to see every night, we could sneak into the top half of the PAC12.
