How crazy is it, that it is a very real possibility that Colorado (who finished dead last with a 1-8 record in the Pac12 last year) could face Arizona State (who finished 10th in the Pac12 with a 2-7 record) in the BigXII title game??!!!
I kind of hope it happens (especially if it means the tds is NOT in that game)!

What I would like to see is something akin to the 2022 season PAC 12, with a bunch of teams having three losses. That would put the Big 12 in real danger of not even sending a team to the CFP provided Army and Boise State win out.

My hatred for BSU has cooled but I absolutely want the Big12 to be excluded. Obviously TV execs want Colorado.
I haven’t watched a lot of college football this season but big12 games I have watched has been the worst football I have watched in years. Poorly coached and just terrible. Most of that occurring in Utah games where Whitt managed to out do the gifts from his opposing coaches.

I’ve never understood why Ute fans hate Boise State. If anything we should be BCS buster bros. One in solidarity.

Obnoxious field primarily. I think they played a really good brand of football back in the day but I only would watch them on away games.
Utah has always underperformed against them.
Fans are solid for that school as well I like the Boise residents and have friendly family jokes. Best part is they loathe Poo Poo but many of the LDS up there go back during BSU down years.

It’s really quite simple:
In 2004, two G5’s went undefeated: Utah and Boise State. No one cared about Boise State, because their schedule was soft as s**t. Utah played up, scheduled tough teams and ended up top 4.
We then got screwed and played Pittsburg.
The rules were changed to make it easier for a G5 to make a BCS bowl.
Boise State continues to schedule down, most years playing one tough game and 11 cupcakes.
They got Oklahoma. And, if you ask the casual fan who the original BCS Buster was, they’d say Boise State.
They did none of the work and got all the credit.

To be fair, the conversation of BCS busters didn’t start with Utah in 2004. In 2001, the parochial school was having an undefeated season and that’s when I first remember the talking heads discussing whether a non-BCS school should be considered for a NY6 game. Luke Staley got hurt, the parochial school lost to Hawaii in their last game of the season, and the conversation stopped for that year because the voters could fall back on weak schedule.
2002 Boise and 2003 Boise/TCU were the standard bearers for the non-BCS but again, weak scheduling and not going undefeated were the barriers but the conversation was slowing building. 2004 Utah was the beneficiary of those 3 years and it’s easy to see why Boise fan took such delight in beating Utah whenever they had the chance.

…and with Oregon already in the Big10 CCG, that would mean three former PAC 12 teams making a CCG in their new conference in the first year. Ya know? The pathetic, lousy, embarrassing PAC 12 teams who couldn’t cut it nationally?

A lot of the resentment of the Broncos has to do with them being repeatedly called “the original BCS busters” when Utah did it earlier (and when 2 fewer teams were let in).
And less said about their fans the better.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL. This conference sucks. We are back to MWC level conversations.
Like I said before: If I’m going to be in a s**tty conference with s**tty teams, let me have my s**tty teams.
It’s too bad the PAC-12 f**ked themselves over adding so many s**tty teams and Stanford and Cal signed away their tv rights for another decade. We are truly stuck until 2030-ish.

Have you ever been to a Utah vs Bosie State game? If you have, then you’d know why there’s, let’s just call it dislike, for the Broncos from certain segments of the Utah fanbase. Not only does Boise State have a four game winning streak versus Utah but the last two games have been blowouts. I was at the 2006 game where Boise State destroyed Utah 36-3 at RES…needless to say, their fans didn’t endear themselves to me…

Boise and Utah were trying to occupy the same space in the mid 2000’s so it was natural for some animosity to build. Petersen owning Whitt didn’t help matters.
Until this year, Boise had owned Oregon also so I’ve always seen Boise as someone that could be a good rival based on games instead of the fake ones like Colorado.

Utes 69Participant
unable to dislike them because they beat us, that is on the coaching staff, talk about fans have you worked with a zoobies fan?
-
The Miami UteParticipant
Boise’s big problem is that it’s just one or two rungs removed from a community college…Neither Cal nor Stanford would be caught dead in the same conference as the Broncos.
-
2008 National ChampParticipant
There are a few traditional football powers who spent most of their history matching this description: just one or two rungs removed from a community college
