ParticipantI don’t have plans to. I actually have zero interest. Might check the scores before bed.
-
Utesbyfive
ParticipantNo interest here.

ModeratorI was perusing the bowl schedule on Monday, and was surprised to see that the first playoff games were this weekend. I consider myself a diehard college football fan, so that should tell you everything you need to know.

ParticipantSame I saw a bunch of memes about it and thought they were playing already. Which prompted me to check and saw it wasn’t really being talked about on here.

ParticipantI don’t plan to. Just don’t care, honestly.

ParticipantI’ll keep track of the score and watch in case it’s close, but I won’t be watching any of the games all the way through. Maybe I’ll have it on in the background.

ParticipantIndiana vs. Notre Dame intriguing as it is an in state battle between a long time power and an outsider having a great year at the right time.
But so much to get done for the holidays, may not be able to closely follow any of the playoff games and the Running Utes have a good matchup Saturday too.

ParticipantThat was the one I was most interested in maybe checking highlights. College Football was kind of ass this year. Maybe it was just how bad the Utah offense was but college football overall seemed bad this season. Just in a football sense.

ParticipantI’ll watch if I’m not doing anything but weekends are usually busy

ParticipantLike UteBacker, I had no idea they started this weekend until this very moment. Diehard college football fan with zero interest here.
-
EagleMountainUte
ParticipantCollege football fan formerly known as die hard.

ParticipantI think I’ll tune in to the SMU vs Penn st. game. I like the idea of a G5 taking out a blue blood like Utah did. I’m not expecting a win and will quickly tune out if it gets out of hand.

ParticipantAbsolutely am watching, one game on Friday, three on Saturday.
Will p**s-off the wifey (especially being the weekend before Christmas), but I’m a diehard college football fan so gotta watch. -
China Rider
ParticipantConcert Saturday night. Will catch the highlights Sunday morning.

KeymasterIf it’s during skiing, I will miss it. Otherwise I will casually tune in.

ParticipantBecause of how much time I invest in watching “My Teams” (Utes, Jazz, Phins, UHC, RSL) I don’t plan on watching any. But in general, I end up catching parts of games because the game is close or end up having some extra time.
-
ProudUte
ParticipantI probably won’t watch an entire game because I will be attending grandkid games this weekend. But, I will likely tune in and watch parts of the games.

ParticipantMan, I don’t even understand the question… I’m such a football slut that I couldn’t tear my eyes away if I wanted to. Also I don’t want to. Guess I need to seek counseling.
-
UteBacker
Moderator“Football slut”…hahahahaha. That USED to be me.
-
EagleMountainUte
ParticipantAbsolutely no judgement from me. I just don’t find it as interesting without Utah anymore. I have also felt like the quality of football has declined. You could see it in the NFL for a few years now but it has finally arrived in the college ranks.

ParticipantI will watch, and I’m somewhat excited about it. Some intriguing matchups.
-
The Miami Ute
ParticipantEagle, I’m out of town and will only watch whatever games are on prime time due to my schedule. That being said, I might not watch any since I don’t have any rooting interest. Same goes for the NFL playoffs.
-
EagleMountainUte
ParticipantNFL has been so bad this year. The games I have watched have been terrible.
I do like teasing my in laws about the Niners. Man that last game was such a dud. Drops and lazy football all around.-
The Miami Ute
ParticipantI agree. Also, for me, I’m just damned tired of the Dolphins putting out a substandard product season after season. I have better things to do than devote time to a team that’s a perennial underachiever.

ParticipantI am a football fan beyond simply my own school. I won’t watch end to end like a Utah game, but I am happy to check in as much as I can to see if there is some drama that will be interesting.

OmahaOmaha
ParticipantWas a long wait to get to a legitimate playoff. Yeah I’ll absolutely be watching.
-
2008 National Champ
ParticipantUntil every school has the same available path to the playoff it will always be an Invitational and only slightly more legitimate than any previous version
-
-
Central Coast Ute
ParticipantI won’t be watching. Other than ASU I don’t know who’s in it.
-
Utah
ParticipantI didn’t know it was this weekend. I assumed it would start over NYE weekend.
Huh. Guess I don’t care that much.
-
OmahaOmaha
ParticipantI think it’s weird that guys that spend a bunch of time on a college sports board aren’t interested in watching big college games.
-
EagleMountainUte
ParticipantWhat do you mean by bunch? Do you think it is more than 30 minutes a day or less than that?
I am putting it at 30 minutes because there isn’t that much content on this board.
-
The Miami Ute
ParticipantIt would be weird if the Utes were playing and people would say that they weren’t interested in watching. It’s not weird to say that you’re not going to watch teams that you don’t care anything about. I’m a fan of Utah, not the sport in general.
-
Utah
ParticipantWhy is it weird? I don’t care about ND. Indiana is a school that isn’t great.
I mean, do I need to watch to know that ND will win? Hell, I didn’t watch, I don’t know what the final score is, and yet I know that ND won.
Finally, college football isn’t fun to watch. Too many commercials, clock runs too much, takes 4 hours to watch about 15 mins of football.
I think it’s weird someone who isn’t a fan of Indiana or ND would spend their Friday night watching.
