The player I most want to hear good things/ stand out about (from kwhitt) during Fall camp is Devin Lloyd. Unfortunetly it’s been pretty quite…
You got to think that a projected “starter” coming into his third year with the program would be making a few headlines..
Then I went to look at his recruitment page https://247sports.com/Player/Devin-Lloyd-46036949/high-school-187152/ Yea, Utah was his only P5 offer..
Clearly he physically looks the part but there was a reason why no other P5 school extended an offer.
So much is riding on Lloyd to fill this critical position but you got to wonder if this guy has the goods or is it just hoping.

Do you listen to fall camp reports? There has been a ton said of Lloyd and all of them good.
He’s also only been in the program for two years.

As others have said, there has been plenty of talk about Devin Lloyd over the last couple of weeks.

I don’t think you can hear much about fall camp reports up on the hill via watching Al-JazoobieTV — the preferred news source for the witless one.

Philly, that Al-Jazoobie TV-thing is pretty funny. Very appropriate.

So what your saying is he had more offers than this guy.
There have been good things said of him during camp and he was a clear stand out from spring. You just see what you want to see.

You need to pay better attention and complain less. The coaches have talked about his progress in almost every interview during camp. You have a point on the lack of P5 offers, Bartel and others commented on it at the time wondering why you would recruit a 6’4″ 215 lb. “athlete” (FS/WR).
The problem with Lloyd’s recruiting was that he didn’t really have a position in high school. His coaches took the best player on the team, him, and put him at free safety and said go nuts. USC and UCLA don’t have to settle for raw undeveloped players, Utah takes a chance with those guys and usually they pan out.
Looked into it a little more. It was a small miracle that we even found this guy. His high school team was 4-8 with 2 losses to Mater Dei (so he played good competition). It wasn’t until the end of his senior year that he was actually noticed as an note worthy player in CA. Heck, the coaches may have actually found him watching film on another recruit.

Scalley raved about the most improved and impressionable player in spring……it was Lloyd. Take the that for what it’s worth. He may be pumping him up knowing he needs him badly this season and/or he may actually br grasping the position and making strides to becoming a potential solid player.
I am rooting for him big times!
