He starts at RT because of injury and then he’s on the bench.  3rd game of the season and Utah is playing their 3rd RT.

You wonder why the Oline can’t get it together? Between injuries and poor play the OL is in shambles

Benched is what I read on a pay for site.

Good riddence, every other play he is looking back at who ever beat him and blew up the ball carrier.  It has never been mental with him, he is too slow and has poor feet.  That cannot be corrected.

I heard from so many inside sources that Bam had made the most progress in the off season. Apparently he had them fooled.

Although, it’s entirely possible that what looked like progression from Bam was really just regression from the D Line.

You can learn the drills and improve technique which is improvement.  Gains are relative.  However, athleticism cannot be taught or overcome at this level.

I don’t blame the coaches for recruting him, you can’t coach size and his lack of experience was the perfect cover for lapses on film.  It is rought to tell with a guy that size going up against 220lb juco defensive ends.  But the choice not to cut bait when it was clear in 2019 that it was never going to happen is troubling.

I am going to guess his issue is consistency. I can also understand how the coaches get hopeful. When Bam targets a defender, he seems to move them out of the play. However, he may also neglect a defender that blows up a play. Possibly the hope has been if they can get him targeted correctly almost all the time they could benefit from his strength. He must of had progress but did not get it working often enough in games. It seems simple, hat on hat but it is so frustrating when there is a blocker that is unoccupied and the QB gets crushed.

When I have focused on watching him he looks very awkward and uncomfortable.
