Coach said that, but I didn’t think so. They know what was supposed to be run, and they had a better look than I had on TV. But you can see the under defender drift back to make the pick. The contention is that Simpkins initially broke out instead of in and was out of position. But even if he runs a more shallow pattern that defender will still be in his lap. Coach said Huntly threw it to the right spot, so I just don’t see how any route adjustment would put the receiver in a position to make the play. I think it was just a good play by the defense.
