ParticipantDish just dropped FS1 and FS2 this afternoon. This also means they no longer appear on SlingTV. Looks like I need a new TV option if I want to watch games. Maybe it’ll need to be Fubo to get Pac12 and Fox Sports, you just don’t get ESPN. Any other ideas?

ParticipantLink gets posted to the game usually before kick on here. P**sing me off to because I signed up for Sling thinking this wouldn’t be an issue for me this season.

ParticipantI switched from Dish to YouTube TV 6 months ago. I have loved it. No Pac-12 network, but the Utes play like 3 games a year on it. I usually go to my brother’s or dad’s house to watch those games. Overall, super happy with YouTube TV.

KeymasterExcept that it’s owned by the evil Google.
-
Mr Chainsaw
ParticipantTheres Google evil and then there is Comcast evil. I’ll take Google.

Sasquatch
ParticipantFYI – You can use a VPN-Europe and the PAC12 streams a youtube channel for free.

ParticipantI’m mildly incensed about this. Hope they fix it before the next Ute road game is on one of those channels.

ParticipantI’m more than mildly incensed. As much as I hate to, we may drop Dish and go back to Comcast. It would be a lot cheaper than what I’m currently paying for Comcast internet and Dish.
-

ParticipantTrouble is whoever you’re with, these disputes are endless. Just last night I watching the Real Salt Lake game (on what is channel 12 locally) and periodcally they ran crawlers indicating that channel and channel 2 would potentially be dropped in a few days from Direct TV/ATT and urging everyone to write their providers.

ParticipantYeah, this is crap. I upgraded to Sling Orange+Blue so I could get espn and fs1. Time to downgrade. Jerks. Luckily I have one other way to access fs1.
-
Central Coast Ute
ParticipantWhat’s your other way to get fs1? And dont you have to have to sling orange+blue to get ESPN and PAC 12 network?
-
Utesbyfive
ParticipantNo. Both have P12 I think. Or maybe thats the sports add on. One pkg had espn and one had fox sports. I’m gonna drop the one that HAD fox sports. I have a login for xfinity. So I can do the Fox Sports app.
-
Central Coast Ute
ParticipantPretty sure PAC 12 and fox were on blue and ESPN is on orange. Maybe with the sports package you can get it cheaper.
-
Utesbyfive
ParticipantI just modified my subscription. It’s like 4 bucks cheaper to go to the Orange + Sports Add-on. :/

ParticipantSo I have Comcast and I’m not missing anything and I’m not seeing any channels dropped…

Utahute72
ParticipantWell welcome to the 1990s

ParticipantYou know what I like about living in the 1990s? Channels don’t get dropped, the HD is beautiful, I can have more than 1 TV running at a time, and I don’t have to sweep snow off my dish.
Meanwhile, in 2019, people are cord-cutting…and they can’t see the channels they most want to watch.
Sometimes the old ways are the best ways.

ParticipantComcast seems to have fewer of these disputes than the 2 big satelite providers. And I understand that here in Utah, unlike Dish, you get the national PAC12 feed as well as the Mountain (Utah/Colorado) PAC12 feed.

EagleMountainUte
ParticipantComcrap buffers your speeds during peak times. I also had tons of issues with their DVR. Forcing you to have a bundle to be competitive in price also annoys me.

InactiveI’ve had Comcast for years now and DVR tons of things and have blast internet with zero issues, they’e never buffered my connection. I even watch the DVR programs in Europe and other places abroad on their app on my iPad. I don’t understand the hate.
-
EagleMountainUte
ParticipantCalling to cancel and then being dropped back into a promotion also annoying. I could go on and on. I have fiber now with Direct Communications. It is owned by Eagle Mountain. Haven’t had a single issue. Goes super fast and you could go up to a gig if you wanted.

ParticipantThe term is “throttled” not buffered. 😉
-
EagleMountainUte
ParticipantI always think buffering because all of my devices during 4-9 pm at night just rotate with a little buffer type thing. Yes they throttled me like crazy.

ParticipantComcast is the whipping boy for this generation. But reality is they provide a great product. It is pricey, but almost never goes down and runs as advertized. I’ve been with them for a several years and it has become something I don’t ever really have to think about. It’s just alway there. It TV and internet matter, it’s a good choice.

ParticipantI have been with Comcast for years and I agree with you. It’s not worth saving a few bucks for the added aggravation for me anyways.
-
UteFanatic
ParticipantI have some issues with their constant price increases and the perpetual need to call them to get the latest promo deal. However, Xfinity TV/Internet combo is hands down best product for sports fans. I can’t even recall the last time my TV or internet went out and I’ve been an Xfinity customer for well over 10 years now. I love it. I recently switched to the 400MBps internet and it is blazing fast and regularly get verified speeds of 450MBps+.

ParticipantSuch bulls**t. Cant believe its 2019 and i have to scramble to find way to watch. Was getting it via sling. Time to cancel and move to something else. What service offers espn, pac12, and fs1?

ParticipantComcast has no competition in their markets. Dish and DirecTV have to compete for every TV in the USA.
It is because of this competition, that they have to try to keep the price down. They have contract disputes with content providers who want to gouge them as much as Comcast gouges you.
I don’t know how Cable became so anti-competitive, but it did. I don’t know much about the early history of cable. How did the territorial system become prevalent? I mean in Utah you have a choice of Comcast Xfinity or… Antenna. Is it all about owned infrastructure? Most probably. Comcast grows their market share by buying other cable companies, not trying to compete for eyeballs like the Satellite providers.

ironman1315
ParticipantAren’t they competing with satellite?
-
Distantute
ParticipantUtesby5 doesnt know s**t. Of couse cable and satellite compete. Cable satellite stream- they all compete.
-
Utesbyfive
ParticipantYou couldn’t just politely rebut my point? You have to be insulting? I thought that this board was pretty friendly. You don’t seem friendly.
-
Distantute
ParticipantMy apologies. That was out of line.
-
-
Central Coast Ute
ParticipantI didnt take his point as saying they don’t compete with each other. His point was the difference between cable and satellite.

ParticipantJust barely switched to Dish this year too. I guess it’s back to being hunched over my PC watching a stream like a caveman around a fire for me.
-
Central Coast Ute
ParticipantFubo TV has fs1 and PAC 12. I’m going to do the free trial this week and hope that after the bye week sling has their s**t figured out.
