Were Cam’s passes in practice last week all accurate and zippy, but then in the game they mysteriously started hitting open receivers behind them and at their feet?

1. OnlyU said he “Looked good”. literally typed the quotations himself.
2. He did get hurt again.
3. regardless, imo i don’t think he should have been playing or should have been taken out.

I think the first throw or two were shaking off the rust. I think after he went down awkwardly on that tackle that that caused the lack of being able to throw. He couldn’t plant off his back foot, like at all. Couldn’t escape pressure. Isaac should have been put in at that point.

Previous shoulder surgery. Big brace on knee. Already having to use more lower body to power the ball. And that was before he hurt fingers. And then he couldn’t even plant off his foot.

Yeah I guess I wasn’t thinking about the “new” knee/leg injury. Maybe my question is the dumb question. So then one has to wonder why the coaches couldn’t see what everyone else could after the injury and yank him.

I think coach tried to address that in postgame. He indicated that you can play through injuries (referencing the leg from 2nd or 3rd play) and the cam felt he was ok to play through the injury.
A question of going with the proven QB who has shown he can play tough through injury and win championships … or the freshman who has won, but struggled with AZ.
In my own view – also the need to get Cam game time snaps if you expect him heal up over the week.
it’s a dilemma and a coaches call. We won’t ever know if Wilson would have won the game. As much as I was yelling at my TV that he should play Wilson, in reality no one was better situated to make that call than Whittingham.

A couple dumber questions :). With half the season remaining, Why is it so hard for Utah to move on from Cam Rising and is KW losing the trust and confidence of his players, maybe even some coaches? CR has been the best unavailable QB option to win football games for Utah over the past two years. The healthy (if possible) 2024 version of CR is not going to be the same healthy CR from 2021. Time to give IW the keys to the truck. CR’s done amazing things for Utah football and got paid for it. Time to move on and ride with the young gunslinger.

Idk all I know that if I’m KW I’m putting cam in a rocking chair, putting a blanket on his lap and pointing him at a window.

Obviously, it was going to take Cam a few series to shake off the rust. Unfortunately, after being injured…he played the rest of the game with a torn meniscus (not verified but sounding like it) he couldn’t plant properly whatsoever and why the frustration of having 10% Cam vs Isaac.

The question that kept running through my mind all night Friday was why not take the damn glove off? If you are throwing in the dirt or 10 feet over receiver’s heads, but your hand is supposedly healed, why not try taking it off and throwing???
The other thing I noticed was the completely clueless and somewhat exhausted look on Kyle’s face in the fourth quarter. I did not like seeing that. I reminded me of last season and this team is playing like they played last season. They are playing to keep the game close and hope for a miracle to eek out a win. Are we that injured this season that we are having to play the same exact way? It sure seems that way.
