Those QB reads happen so fast and all in one single head motion. It’s incredible.

I totally agree. It forces the defense to react, which then gives the offense the upper hand to exploit them.

Also, I believe this type of offense will make it easy for the offensive line to make and hold their blocks because everything happens so quickly.

Nice catch. Taylor talked about that. He said his reads follow the natural head movement of the QB and his eyes. He said the reads follow the way a QB’s head naturally moves making the recognition happen faster and helping with accuracy.

Just did a little research and this was Gage Gubrud’s first collegiate start at QB as well as Troy Taylor’s first game as a college OC.  The rest of the season was full of broken records.  Hopefully Troy Taylor can better channel and coach up those QB instincts with the guys we have on the roster.  I also hope he has long term plans here because I’d love to see what he can do with a guy he’s invested years into developing.

Kupp is a pretty damn good receiver, with experience in a passing system, and a big solid frame. If Patrick we’re still here he would have a phenomenal season, just not sure who on the roster fills that void? Singleton had some nice games vs asu and Cal but disappeared against everybody else.  Still think Utah sticks with the run heavy offense, just uses the screen more than once in the final game of the year.

I think Singleton et al make huge strides this year and will surprise everyone.

I know there’s still a year plus to go, but I really can’t wait to see Covey in this offense. As you were.

Yes. I’ve never wanted someone to serve a Max Hall mission so badly. He’d destroy it in this offense. He and Huntley running the RPO? Forgetaboutit

I can’t wait for Covey either. Every time he touches the ball it feels like he’s going to break a big play.

Another thing I noticed is how dangerous this offense is when the RPO is done right. So many big plays because of it.

Watched another highlight reel and it looks like they utilize the Utah pass.
