KeymasterI need some technical help by a specialist. I’ve been trying to get some of this fixed for a long time but it isn’t my area of expertise. I’m looking for a DevOps type engineer who knows email configuration, blacklisting, IP addresses, DMARC, MX records, and such. I have an issue with emails from Ute Hub being blocked by email providers like MSN, hotmail and such. This makes it so users who register with those accounts never get their email confirmations.
If this is up your alley or you know someone who might fit the bill, I’d love to talk to you.

MemberHi Tony,
I am far from an expert. Very far for that matter, however I did help set up a website for a friend’s ministry to help her out. The domain hosting company walked me through the whole thing. They might be a resource.

KeymasterThanks for the idea 61. I’ve gone that route with my dedicated server provider and they have been somewhat helpful but not completely.

ParticipantTony, are the emails not being received at all or are they possibly being redirected to the Spam or Junkmail folders for people using these free email accounts?z
If you have access to the email logs on your server you should be able to confirm if the emails were delivered or, if they were rejected, the error codes for what caused the rejection.

KeymasterThey’re not getting to the users at all, not in their spam folder. I don’t seem to be getting any responses or error codes that I’m aware of.

ParticipantIs it your own personal mail server or do you use a service. If you have a service you need to setup an spf record so the service can send on your behalf. I don’t believe hotmail or msn requires dmarc but most mail servers prefer it.

KeymasterMy own dedicated server. Have setup spf and dmarc, but might not be setup well.

ParticipantStuckinseattle is correct…usually the server will have a mail log showing that the other server accepted it and if not why. Sounds like they are prob accepting it but just dropping it or quarantining it. I use mxtoolbox.com to check all spf, dmarc, and blacklist type issues. You can also send to a gmail account and look at the headers of the email to see if spf and dmarc is passing. What type of mail server are you using? Postfix Linux box or something?

ParticipantHey Tony,
I have battled this issue for customers before. Let me know if you are dealing with it still.
