1. Coach Whitt retires on his own terms soon – Whittingham’s tenure has been remarkable. There are few successful examples of taking a mid-major to the power conference ranks and achieving success. He is the greatest coach in program history in my opinion, AND I believe it is time for the Scalley regime to begin. I hope it’s a smooth process.
2. Coach Scalley has a new offensive philosophy — The defense stays aggressive but the offense can breathe and take chances. Smart, innovative coaches throughout the offensive ranks.
3. Talented transfer quarterback — I’m not ready to completely give up on our current QB’s, but it sure seems like we need more talent at the position. Next year’s recruiting class doesn’t seem to have that guy.
4. Ditch UA for Nike – I am not a Nike fanboy by any means, but I believe they make a better on-field product and have much more cultural cache. The UA fan apparel has gone way down in intrigue and quality. If we do re-sign with them (contract ends in 2027), stick with the throwback look and wear a little more red and a little less black.
5. Natural grass field — Obviously a ton of money and work, but the look and potential health benefits are worth it in my eyes.
6. Rice-Eccles improvements — Completely new and expanded concourses; hopefully the Olympics help spur this.
7. Coca-cola products — Need I say more.
