ParticipantI hope this is true but it would be very odd timing. He could have transferred before the deadline this year and played next year. If he transfers now won’t he have to sit next year?

ParticipantI think one of the issues that Sitake had with Bernard’s transfer earlier was that he could give too much insight into BYU’s scheme/gameplan against Utah.
I remember seeing that for a portion of that Utah v. BYU game, Bernard was on the BYU sideline with a headset on. I wouldn’t be surprised if Sitake has been trying to get Bernard to stay this entire time by making him feel like part of the team in that way. But perhaps if Bernard has persisted in his desire to leave the program, Sitake and the AD have finally conceded and will let him out of his BYU obligations. Then I think he could start next year for Utah.
I think this is possible because 1) Sitake is a good guy and 2) the Bernard versus the Honor Code office storyline has not gone away and I’ve heard rumblings that it is hurting BYU’s recruiting.

ParticipantHmm… I’ll cross my fingers but won’t hold my breath. He would certainly help at LB next year.

Participant^^^^ This guy doesn’t really want his entitled @$$, I was not impressed with the video. Threatening to kill someone, thinking you can transfer wherever you want, sadly I think BYU is doing themselves a favor. If he does come I hope Whitt rides him so hard he sweats out his entitled attitude or doesn’t play him.

ParticipantI don’t see how BYU overcomes this recruiting obstical. This is a perfect tool for any team recruiting against the Y. Just show them how the HC can prevent a player from playing. Unless they’re LDS I’m guessing the say, yup, I’ll pass.
