I thought that Utah got worked against AFA in the face-offs, and could stand to improve on clearing, but overall, that was a great game, with solid, coached-up effort.
The Loyola game however just showed that we’re not quite there yet. The 1-pt loss at Denver gave us hope that our talent had reached full-on D-1 level a lot sooner than expected. Denver was a Top-10 team after all. And AFA is no slouch either. But Loyola is just on another level. We’ll likely get smoked when we get around to playing Virginia and Syracuse later on in the season as well.
For now, we just need to show that we can still hang with Jacksonville, Mercer, Cleveland St, and Robert Morris. We shouldn’t lose to Westminster, and what a huge bonus it would be if we could top Boston U.
FWIW, I really think the PACN needs to stop showing re-runs of W-Basketball early Saturday mornings, when the Utes are playing live lacrosse games. I’d already emailed the Pac-12 Network about this, but it might take a bunch more Utah/Lacrosse fans to do so likewise before they finally take heed.
