Like we kind of talked about I don’t know if there is a rule on how a QB should give themselves up. I think the smart decision is to always give yourself up timely. An extra two yards isn’t worth it especially early in a game in a meaningless regular season game.

Knowing what we know about CTE football needs to look to Rugby I still feel like they have been on the cutting edge in reducing major brain injuries with players. The Texan player was looking to hurt the QB. It isn’t a legitimate tackle or hit. It is just a way to hurt them. Reminds me of the Saints head hunting.

1000% dirty hit and the guy should receive a fine equivalent to 1 year pay and suspended for the season.

TL started to breakdown and slide 4 yards away and the “tackler” lead with his forearm into his head intentionally. More than enough time to avoid the hit.

There are penalties for faking a slide and the play is blown dead where TL starts to slide. If he faked the slide and kept running, the ref would have called it.

I don’t think it is inherently dirty, the game has just changed. (see link to video of Mike Singletary doing the same thing in the 80’s).

In many ways, I blame this type of defensive play in the current league on Mahomes and other QBs who act like they are going down, or act like they are sliding and then don’t. In my mind, that kind of play by a QB should be at least a 15 yard penalty, and potentially an ejection because it leads to this hit on Lawrence.

Well the s**tty thing is Jaguars ended up acting foolish and they had offsetting penalties and Lawrence left the game.

I still think the suspension should be a minimum of one game, but if the player he injured misses the next 4 games, the suspension should equal the number of games missed by the injured player.

I think ejections with pretty clear intent should result in suspension for 2 games. It would really stop them in their tracks in the nfl.

The Utah ejection with Gilman wasn’t dirty but I don’t see how it is late or anything. Defender has plenty of time to pull out of the hit.
