Bernard deserves more for sure. Really upsetting to see him like this.

Karene Reid shaking his head along with Micah. It’s apparent the leaders of the team know. I interpret that to be Whitt riding IW in spite of what the leaders on the team wanted. I could be wrong, but I could be right. Is Whit afraid of losing IW? This is Cam Rising 2.0, do what’s best for the team, and let the players prove themselves.
Seems like the Sr leaders are just keeping their heads down and finishing their season. Sad, really sad, MB has given so much to this program, stayed committed and done all he could.

Before we build Bernard a statue next to Whitt’s, let’s not forget that he entered the portal and had committed to Deion.

Rick WalkerParticipant
I thought he was close to going to South Carolina? Either way it doesn’t matter and I don’t blame him since if I was him dealing with the tavion drama, I would’ve wanted to leave too.

it does take away from the “stayed committed” part of @UTE98’s post though

Thomas was a POS he also fumbled more than anyone I have ever seen the ball was coming out a lot.
Yeah he scored a lot but it came at a heavy price.-

Joe Williams quit the team in 2016 because he couldn’t hang onto the ball. 4 weeks later, after all of the other scholarship backs were injured, he came back and fumbles weren’t an issue anymore. Thomas also overcame the early yips.
That’s probably the easiest thing to fix with a RB. You can’t teach them to like contact, pass blocking takes awhile to properly master, they either have the ability to see past the first defender or they don’t.,, but carrying a football with him at all times and having it be known that anyone who can knock it out of his hands gets a reward does the trick in about a week.

NarfUteParticipant
Joe Williams quit football because he was having mental struggles due to the loss of his sister NOT because he had a bout of fumbleitis. Don’t revise that history.

First I’ve heard about his sister dying so I’m only going by the history available at the time
-
EagleMountainUteParticipant
Thomas would fumble so regularly it was weird when he didn’t. That is a fact.

Given that we saw Rose come in with no change in the players’ demeanor, I’m guessing Huard lights things up in practice and players feel he should be starting instead of Wilson.
-

There are a hell of a lot of assumptions going on with Ute fans interpreting what the players expressions mean. They’re frustrated just as we are. But DON’T read into it anything further unless you actually know. It does them, coach and the whole team a disservice.

Interesting thoughts. With the exception of Huntley and Rising Whitt has always struggled handling the QBs. Huard certainly couldn’t be any worse than the other two. Now we go in to the BYU game with no QB. The players always know who’s better or who they want to follow.

Ask yourself this.
If Whitt was Johnny Footballs coach, what would have been the outcome?
What about any other high flight QB?
Whitt relentlessly drills no mistakes and practice performance dictates game participation. Johnny football was known to mess around at best in practice. He never would have touched Whitt’s field.
I’m convinced every QB is terrified to make a mistake under Whitt. But that doesn’t explain why some QBs are given extra leash while others get none
