How crazy is this: Troy Williams’ best game came vs USC. U.S.FREAKING.C.

Look at this:

Week 3 QBR: 40.2
Week 4 QBR: 83.0

He took a HUGE step forward. Like the announcer said during the game, the play of the game might have been Troy throwing the ball away in the red zone to allow Utah a chance to live another play.

Has he turned the corner? If so…wow.

It seems like they are allowing him to evolve into the role of QB and allowing more of the passing game.  Let’s hope this continues this week as we move into a Cal game where their defense has been porous.  It would be awesome to see him continue to improve his stat line.

Probably the biggest contributor to this is the Oline.  It is finally living up to the hype promised in the preseason.  Also kind of sad but USC’s defense might have been worst than BYU……..A win against USC one of the most winningest programs ever is a win that always keeps giving.  Don’t care how or when it happens.

I felt like he was showing some pretty awesome flashes in the games leading up to USC, and felt he played very well vs BYU and SJSU other than a couple of his stupid mistakes. He cleaned those up vs USC, and the coaches loosened his leash a little and he was awesome. I hope they continue to let him air it out and don’t pull back the first time he throws another pick.
