So disappointing.
On a separate note, playing in Boulder is going to be a stiff challenge for the Utes.

I have no idea. It was a big fat egg.

Fifita wanted to play for Utah his whole life and now makes us pay for not offering him.

My thoughts exactly.
He should be our QB right now and it’s frustrating that we missed another one.
Zero Excuse to lose to Arizona. They are right back to where they were before last season “special” run.
-
2008 National ChampParticipant
And it wouldn’t have just been Fifita. He brought three others from Servite with him to Arizona. Think Utah could have used an all-conference LB or an all-american receiver right about now?

Charlie FoxtrotParticipant
Multiple trips to the red zone with no points in the first half of that game put is in a position to have to try and play from behind in the second half. Throw in a freshman QB with the inevitable mistakes trying to be aggressive in the “throw game” and you get a big fat loss.

Rick WalkerParticipant
Fifita definitely brought his best game for Utah. He hasn’t made a single amazing throw that created something out of nothing like he did against us.
-
NarfUteParticipant
His second half against us, he was a man possessed. Unfortunately he’s not doing it every week
-

We seem to bring our the best in our opponents. It doesn’t look like bad D in realtime, but teams sure do seem to execute us. This TCU game has been painful on both sides, too.

It’s not the only thing, but they did a great job prepping for Utah during their bye week.

It’s quite simple really. We are a terrible team. We lose to them at home, yet other teams seem to have zero problem disposing of them, even on the road. The singular exception is us.

Utes lose tonight, the reality sinks in…Utah isn’t any good either. Losing to AZ and ASU…may just be the fact Utes were waaay overhyped?

Sometimes the talent is there, but the team just isn’t good. That’s us. It sucks.

FSU has entered the chat.

Uggh, it’s becoming clear Utah may not be a very good football team.
-
PhillyUteParticipant
It’s simple. We suck. Which makes Whit saying that this one of the most talented and deepest teams he’s had hilariously wrong and out of touch.

^This!
The game passes every coach by at some point in their careers. The game itself evolves, players evolve and coaches who are stuck doing the same thing over and over every year get stagnant and eventually out coached. This is where Utah is at right now. On the cuspose of turning the page or on the cuspose of a steady decline.None of this though means Coach Whitt isn’t still capable of getting quality wins. It just means head scratch losses will become more common place. Wins on the road will be very difficult. Average seasons are what we can expect now.
Give Coach Whitt his due, build him a statue or name the field after him. He’s an all-time great and we’re all lucky to have witnessed the progression of this program under his watch. I do believe we’re are watching his final season. I would really like to see him finish the rest of the year strong then hand the reins to Morgan.
Let’s get this win! Go Utes!!

UtesRockParticipant
Well, maybe 3x in the red zone, no points, and three interceptions.
