ParticipantAccording to KSL, the game time and network for Utah/UCLA will be decided by the outcome of UCLA/Oregon, which kicks off this Saturday at 1:30 pm on ABC. If Oregon wins, Utah/UCLA will kick at 8pm on ESPN, with Oregon/Colorado getting the 1:30 pm spot on FOX. If UCLA beats Oregon, Utah/UCLA will kick at 1:30 pm on FOX, with Oregon/Colorado likely getting that late ESPN window.
I know Oregon beating UCLA is what’s best for the conference and our South campaign, but getting that prime afternoon window on FOX in RES would be a nice opportunity — especially if Utah takes care of business in Corvallis and ends up ranked going into that game. -

ParticipantUtah does not play well during the day. Ever. Please let it be a night game, sleep be damned.
In Moss’ new podcast, he and Huntley actually talked about how they hated the early games and wanted to play under the lights.
Seriously though, when was the last time Utah played a great afternoon game?

ParticipantYou’ve got a point. I just worry that RES won’t be as filled for the night slot since Saturday the 30th is essentially Halloween this year.
But I would rather see Utah play well at night and win in a less full stadium than play poorly in front of an afternoon packed house.

ParticipantNight game on Halloween have not been a problem with filling the stadium in the past I don’t think it will be this year.

ParticipantWe played pretty well against Colorado and Wazzu last year. Both mid-day/afternoon games

ParticipantGive me the night game. We need an Oregon win. Not going to give UCLA there second conference loss, but also to put us under the lights. For whatever reason we do not play very well in afternoon games.

ParticipantAgreed, TV time slots are not important right now. All that matters is winning the South and playing for a Confernce Championship….so anything that helps us get closer to the goal takes precedence. With that said, no question we should all want Oregon to beat UCLA this week.

ParticipantNight game. Otherwise, I’ll probably have to miss a day game for my son’s football game. Moar football.

At Colorado Dec 12, 2020 10:00 am start: Utah won 38-21 by scoring 28 unanswered points in the second half after trailing 21-10 just after halftime.
Home vs Washington State Dec. 19, 2020 11:30 am start: Utah won 45-28 after trailing 28-7 at halftime – scoring 38 unanswered points in the second half.
Home vs Washington State Sept. 25, 2021 12:30 pm start: Utah won 24-13 by scoring 17 unanswered points after trailing 13-7 early in the 3rd quarter.

ParticipantSo basically we were still asleep until the 2nd half started.
Echoes what Moss and Huntley said recently, that is took them a while to wake up.
