ParticipantYah, I know. Respect the proces, one game at a time, best thing about 0-0 is the chance to go 1-0, etc…
But I have to think that some of our prep is on Washington. Week 3. First Pac-12 game. Big game for us, given that USC does not play them.

MemberUtah better be “prepp’n” for NIU. At this moment I call it a toss up.
Kwhitt is not well “prepped” to vs. a circa 2010 Utah type MWC team.
Utah has a bullseye on there backs in this game….not sure Kwhitt can mentally prepare this team correctly.

ParticipantYeah, Whitt is so terrible at beating good G-5 opponents like Colorado State in 14. Or BYU in 15.

MemberLet’s talk after this game…
I’d love nothing more than Utah blow the doors off NIU. But we all know kwhitt, it will be a WTF game won in the last moments….

ParticipantShow many any evidence right now to back up your claim at all. What the one loss to Gary Anderson?? One loss is certainly a trend. You got nothing to make that statement with. I will admit when I base a statement completely on opinion alone just own it don’t be:

ParticipantI am sure you will:
a) call for Whitt’s firing after a loss
b) call for his firing after a close win
c) go radio silent after a big win
d) call for his firing mid-game should anything go wrong.

ParticipantI just want him to call it a pull out of his ass prediction based on no evidence.

MemberI view the NIU as a bellweather game for kwhitt. Can he get the team to play like the favorites they are on the road or will he again find a way to play down to the competition and attempt to squeak out a sloppy win.
If kwhitt beats the spread ( or even comes close) I will be the first to respond on Utehub and eat crow.

ParticipantI don’t understand this statement at all. We’ve lost 1 OOC game since joining the PAC-12 & it was to Utah State after losing our starting QB, having to play a true freshman, It went to OT, and took a horribly incorrect pass interference call to decide the game.
I think Whitt has proven that he can get his team prepped to play anyone.

ParticipantCoaches have absolutely taken some time to work on Washington prior to this week however it’s all about Weber right now and will be all about NIU the following week.
Washington is focused on Auburn so we have an advantage in prep. That said our players, to a man, will tell you that game hasn’t been mentioned once. This staff does a great job keeping focus on the task at hand.
NIU is an excellent test week 2. Solid team, road trip, veteran group…checks all of the boxes. Could qualify as a trap game and has a chance to be a little closer than we want but we’ll win by 10-14 going away.
Don’t forget we have an extremely experienced team in almost every position group. There is nothing about this trip that is more intimidating than the Coliseum against SC or a trip to Oregon.
Our guys shouldn’t flinch and will take care of business.

ParticipantI really feel like people think it is 2017 still.

ParticipantThe funny thing about this road trip is the stadium likely won’t even been sold out. It is a not an intimidating place to play.

ParticipantI like to hear about the team’s focus. 😉 I, as a fan, may not have the same dedicated focus. Except, that I can’t wait to go to the game next Thursday and see the results of all the hard work. I am most excited to see Huntley and the receivers. But it all will be fun.
Thanks for all of your insight.
