Last game I as surprised to see that they had some kind of vendors on the south and north side of the concourse behind the south end zone. That ended up pinching the already crowded area to an even smaller space.
Last year or two they did make some mazes for the food lines, which has helped a bit, but then last week they added an additional drink line outside of the maze, thus encroaching on the limited concourse space more.
It’s cool they’re trying to improve things and making an effort, but it seems like some of the ideas are not well thought out.
How would you fix the problems? They’re good problems to have. If we had poor attendance we wouldn’t have the crowding problems.

My opinion and it’s just that. Build an ornamental fence around the farthest exterior possible. Move some of the concession out of the concourse to the sidewalk areas on the west and south sides. There isn’t enough room to use property on the east or north. Possibly take a small section of the west parking lot. Have hydration stations like many other stadiums. Tables with small water cups filled. As you walk by, you can grab one and move on. This solution would not do much for the east side. With the limited space, it’s difficult to do a lot.

I agree, they clearly need to extend space out from the concourse which should only be used for movement without lines. The only food in the concourse should be minimal and premade, no wait options like standard subs. Some of the space inside the concourse should be converted to additional bathrooms. More food options outside the concourse hopefully at the same level with minimal steps. Additional food options even farther out at ground level. Around the north end a second concourse raised enough for traffic on the road under, and with more bathrooms. Most important, no lines on the concourse. Live game screens visible from food lines.

Worst case scenario playing in the middle of the day in late summer. Lots of fans on the concourse to try to get a break from the sun at halftime, and huge lines at the water filling stations.

We’ve sat in the NEZ for 20 years, and the north concourse clog is a known issue. People should not be allowed to loiter in the most narrow sections. Add signage and have a staff member encourage people to keep moving. I’ve seen large groups having full-on conversations in the middle of that hallway. Reminds me of the people that stop to chat at the entrance to Costco. 😉

Add drink machines over against one of the bare walls, not right next to the food. Pick up your drink and then go to a designated section with 5 or so machines for mobile order pickup.

Don’t let Riverton students doing concessions hog an entire machine. Our drink section only had 2 machines and the high school kids wouldn’t let anyone use the other dispenser. So you had a huge line waiting one by one.

Originally, RES was poorly designed for future growth. For 53K fans it’s simply too many people to only have 1 concourse and row of portal entryways. They need to redo the East/West stands to include a second row of portal entryways and an upper concourse that connects to the new upper concourse of the KGRZ. This is the only way to adequately relieve the congestion. 2 concourses would also provide for double the amount of restrooms and concession spaces along with the space to move about the stadium.
IMO, the upcoming Olympics provides the ideal opportunity to secure a portion of Olympic funds to jumpstart a much needed renovation to RES. But just rolling out a new mobile app and/or extending the current concourse outwards 10 feet or so isn’t going to solve the problem. They really should do it right. And most definitely, lobby the state legislature to pass a $22 Utah County tax to help cover the remaining cost of the renovation…that would put the KiYi exclamation mark on the project! Go Utes!!

UTA has a plan to move trax to 500s instead of s campus drive – I think the Olympics will make that happen. Then, expand all the concourses w/ Olympic bribe money

Why don’t they have people out selling dogs, snacks, and drinks in the stands? That might help too.

How about you order on your phone and they deliver it to you? HELLO?

These are the kinds of solutions that get/keep a lot more people in their seats.. which seems to be such a worry..
