Play Action, RPO and a scrambling Rose. Force Retzlaff into a couple of turnovers. Our defense is still very good and although Retzy has been much better this year, he can be exploited. If Rose can get something going offensively I like our chances at home. Go Utes!

      Win the turnover battle.

Even if Utah is even with BYU on turnover margin I think they win. If Utah is +1 or more in turnover margin they win big.

Now, with a third string QB in his very first start, that will be hard to do.

Plus there is this daunting stat.

There’s literally no stat I can think of that would favor us. It’s the Holy War anyway. I throw many things out the window. For both sides.

I’m guessing they will have a plan to rattle Retzlaff. If it works, it will look great. If not, he will probably beat us for some big plays. On offense, I am guessing we will see a shakeup of the O-line, and a focus on running the ball hard. Control the ball, control the clock, have a chance to win something like 14-7 at the end. Or, maybe we come out running the veer. Who knows? Whitt is not gonna take this one sitting down, so they will try something. I give it about a 60% chance of blowing up in our faces.

While we need much more production from our struggling offense, we also need some “chaos plays” from our defense. We don’t really give up too many points, but need a few sacks and turnovers which have been few and far between this year.
