      So if you remember, it was Keith Van Horn who offered to match contributions, and ended up paying the balance to get that painted.

      I was the one who @’ed Van Horn on twitter to alert him of the campaign.

      It’s true. BTW, I see that billboard every day. I have worked in the shadow of Rice-Eccles for 29 years.

        Every time I see it in person, and in a game on TV, I feel a small sense of pride. It really, really added something to the stadium.

        Honestly I can’t remember what my username was at the time. It might have been the same as my handle here. It might have been my first account, before the election… Then… I tried a couple different accounts and everything became way too nasty. I quit two years ago, and don’t miss it.

        ETA: Oh, I remember to whom you are referring. No. I was just the one who brought Van Horn into it. I think he put out a call to attention to the campaign and @’ed me back. It was the first mention of it in his timeline. 🙂

            I think Sergeant organized the whole thing. All props to him. I only just @’ed Van Horn, no other Utah pros. Van Horn just seemed like the one guy I followed who might bite. Boy was I right.

      NICE WORK!!!!!

      Every game I point out “UTAH” on the fieldhouse roof to my wife.  And, I tell her it was the work of a dude on a UTES fan site.  I’m sure she’s tired of me say it, but she humors me.  It was the best damn grassroots campaign of all time!
