I believe he can be great in a wide open offense without the handicaps that came with our uber predictable locked down run heavy system. I think the key will be his elite work ethic in combination with troy Taylor’s built in genius and rigid read progression system that has proven to be gold for quarterbacks. He won’t have to force that pass because there will be more space in the offense and more options to go to. And, again, the read structure is key. Williams will get this down and has all the arm talent in the world to be VERY good.
So many unknowns going into next year but I think this team has big time potential. Also, I will probably make a variation of this post on a nearly weekly basis until kickoff. Sorry (not really)
The USC game was awesome. I don’t know how many times he bailed us out on third and long with perfectly thrown balls just past the marker, headed out of bounds.
He’s a good player. I really hope last year was just a function of injury, system and dropped balls.
Last year was his first season starting at the D1 level vs some insane secondaries. USC, Washington, UCLA, and Colorado. With inconsistent centers constantly snapping the ball at his feet, injured, and all the other injured players, plus a very mediocre OC. Troy Williams could have an outstanding year if the WR’s can step up.
