Utah is the better team 1-11. Utah is the better team 12-22 as well. This should be an easy Utah victory with TDS struggling to establish anything all game. BUT it is an opener. Emotions are going to be hot. I expect more penalties in this game than last year. If you remember correctly 2018 was a really clean game. I don’t believe we saw yellow until the third quarter. A few questions I want answered for this OOC game.
Will Utah come on swinging offensively? I don’t know. I feel like Huntley may take his shots now that he has Thompson and Dixon. We may see a quick score or something abnormal. I would prefer Moss grind it out and dink’s and dunks to start. I feel like Ludwig wants to take the top off quick and punch that tds defense in the gut. Body shots to control the clock in the second half.
Special teams? Kickoff coverage has been on the decline for a while. Not sure why. Feel like it hasn’t been assignment sound. Blocking..ok Gay had a few blocks to start the season. Gotta fix that bull s**t. I don’t want to see that. Finally kicking in general. Matt Gay is probably the best college kicker of all time. Not easy to compare to or replace. So this should be interesting to witness. A game could come down to this but not this TDS game.
Huntley taking hits? I want see him snap up I want to see that swagger. He was on fire during that win streak leading up to ASU. Let’s get that back on track starting tomorrow. I want efficiency(NO DROPS!!!!) and I want some smart runs. I don’t want as many run for his life plays or hits taken. He needs to play it smart and be the Senior we expect. He can lead this team to Roses.
Moss? He should be churning up yards on this defense. I am not even worried. Challenge between the tackles and let’s see some pulling and downfield blocking. Moss is my favorite player on Offense and he will take so much off of Huntley’s shoulders. Ludwig is going to love this guy. DHC is going to come in and give Utah valuable carries to.
Defense? I want 15 sacks and 15 turnovers. I want Pease mentality disruption and chaos but stick to your assignments. No over pursuing just out perform them in the trenches and force Wilson to make throws he wouldn’t normally do. I will be keeping my eye on a lot of things. I think Bushman is going to try and bully guys like Guidry and Bernard. TDS will especially attack Bernard as a matter of principal.
This SHOULD be an easy win. It certainly isn’t the easiest game Utah has on the season. I am sticking with prediction though in the pick em. 42-9 Utes. It will be like 21-6 at the half. Anae will have a fumble six in the first half. JJ pick six to.

If we don’t turn the ball over, we win big.

Overpursuit on defense could be an issue in the first game. I can see some misdirection plays by the zoo to try and exploit that. Wilson kid could burn us with runs outside. Definitely don’t want to see any drops. Those lost us at minimum two games last season.

We better not fall behind by 20 like last year. I don’t think we will be coming back from that kind of deficit on the road.

I sure hope you are right, 42-9 would be awesome. We will lose a lot of production after this year. Time to blow some people out so we can invest in the future with young guys getting reps. I think that’s paramount this year.
I also think *sportsmanship is a bit overblown. If you’re up by 50, I get it. If you are up by 28, keep pouring it on – you will be rewarded in development and in the polls.
I think it will be much closer of a game, unfortunately.
