So, that they dont get our best shot.
My opinion is. If they’re on the schedule, you play to beat them. If we are good enough we will beat Oregon Twice. Yes, we have home field. But Vegas, will feel like a gome field. I doubt Oregon (if they lose to us next week) will travel nearly as well as Utah will.
We need to keep momentum……. If we put up on Oregon next week I think that will make Oregon doubt even more go into the championship game with us.
Plus, mailing in games, or holding out is not in this programs DNA. Lets beat Oregon, scrap by CO (rest gusy if we need too that are banged up but could play Like Thomas was today) and then Beat Oregon again. Those bastards deserve to lose there CFP playoff spot to us and a rose bowl berth to us in the same year. It would be so sweet to avenge 2019.

Great post! And I agree. While I am/was on the bandwagon of resting key starters spending on the situation, I also love the idea of lining up against Oregon next Saturday with our best 11. We owe them some payback. And then we will do it again on Dec 3rd for good measure.

I can tell you there is zero chance of that happening. We may have spent a little more time preparing for Oregon this week instead of Arizona than we should have but you didn’t hear that from me. Bottom line is we’re going after the Ducks this week…100%

That explains it! Thanks, Onlyu. That was awesome.

AZUteFanParticipant
Great insight, as always OnlyU!
It was apparent this team and this coaching staff did not respect U of A and it almost cost them a very important win. To be honest, I’m surprised KW would overlook any conference opponent, especially with so much on the line.
Hoping the jump start on Oregon pays off.

UteFanaticParticipant
So overlooking teams does happen. Hmm.
It’s funny coaches say this never happens, but we all know that it does.
As always, thanks for the info, Onlyu. You’re my favorite insider.

Only a moron would purposely drop a game. I have seen fans posting this garbage that Utah should lose both to Oregon.
I say go and take the Rose bowl slot don’t hope they pick your 8-5 team because you lost.
-
AZUteFanParticipant
I haven’t seen anyone on this board suggest purposely losing. Some have suggested resting key players that might be banged up, which happened with Tavion today. But I don’t think anyone in their right mind would suggest losing on purpose. That makes no sense.

You bring up a good point about beating them next week. Win that game and fewer Oregon fans travel to Vegas.
I don’t understand the sitting argument.even in the NBA you would never sit players for three weeks before a championship game
-
AZUteFanParticipant
I can tell you don’t watch NBA basketball. The best players sit out 25% of the regular season to…REST!

UteFanaticParticipant
Not going to happen. Nor should it.
-
alUmnUsParticipant
Who is actually saying this? Nobody that actually played a sport and contributed in any way to their team would say something like this.
Anyway, as it stands now, Utah MUST win next week to clinch the South. So the idea that Utah could “dial it in” against Oregon is completely asinine.
