Why?
Williams was a below average PAC 12 QB last year. He only completed 53% of his passes, which is horrible for a college QB. I was honestly worried about this season.
Does this mean that all of our problems are now behind us? Certainly not. Huntley has to grow and learn. He has very little game time experience. I suspect that in order to win the position, that there must be a noticeable gap between Huntley and Williams. I don’t think the coaches make a decison to replace a returning starter untless they felt strongly about it.
Keep in mind that Huntley was the Florida player of the year in 2015. That says a lot in my opinion.
Williams seems to be an excellent young man. I am impressed with him as a person. I wish him the best. I know this has to be a difficult day for him.
