Be if our OC kept calling WR screens and throws to the flat that were blown up. Every. Time. I know WSU doesn’t have a great offense but the D destroyed those plays every time on Thursday, it was fun to see and mind boggling why the cougs kept doing it

Because Cam Ward is inconsistent down field. And they don’t have a consistent run game either.

Our D was swarming and closing on the ball very quickly. That was great to watch.

Which made me confused as to why Utah bit on the play action so much. It was a game of minor adjustments that you could literally measure by quarter. 
I also don’t get why Ludwig tried to bash it up the gut between the tackles late in the game. Possibly because he was worried about Barnes? But Glover and JJ were unknowns to. Idk. Seemed like he went away from what works in the rushing game.

It seemed to me like they were burning clock and relying on the defense to win the game.

I agree, but at the same time, we could have also burned clock by mixing in a “Jaylon Dixon [or Money Parks] jet sweep”, where Dixon/Parks is expressly commanded to NOT go out of bounds.  That play had been very successful throughout this season.

I’m with you. Dixon and Parks need to be utilized more

Coaches: DON’T run outside the hash marks get upfield.  Dixon and Parks are smart enough to do that.
