Welcome to Ute Hub › Forums › Misc › I started reading a book today.
In it, there are no quotes around dialogue. It’s very strange. I’m not sure if it was done this way for effect or to save money on printing costs.
As of right now, I am in a flashback and the no quotes makes the dialogue feel surreal.
Very interesting.
You weren’t kidding when you categorized this as misc.
Williams “The Use of Force” is a great example of omitting quotations and various other punctuation. I was suprised what an effect it had on how I read the book. Check this article out:
UNQUOTE
It’s very interesting. I don’t like it or hate it, it is just different. It almost makes the story more surreal. I dunno.
