The TDS would play the winner of the contest between Ole Miss and Penn State. That game would be played at LES. Personally, I think that the TDS would get blown out by either opponent.
Before we get too ahead of ourselves though, I’d like to point out a couple of things. One, the TDS is the only Big 12 rep included in the current CFP standings. And two, there’s still a lot of season to be played. In fact, the TDS is only in the playoffs slate because it’s assumed that they’ll win the conference. Lest we forget. Utah was only one game from the CFP in 2019 and then Oregon happened.
I don’t know if I’d feel greater schadenfreude by them making the CFP and then getting destroyed at LES or them losing a couple of their last games and not making the CFP at all.

One clarification. The game would not be at LES. It would be one of the big six bowl games.

The Miami UteParticipant
Is that right? The line and block chart had the TDS as the home team for the game. So, I’m guessing that only the first round games are played at college campus stadiums? Going to be tough for Ole Miss to play at Happy Valley in December….

I’d rather see them lose the conference championship like Utah in 2019 and not make it than get blown out. That sucked to be so close.

The Miami UteParticipant
How about this one…them losing the NCG on a play similar to what happened this weekend? That would truly be a case of revenge being a dish best served cold.

Rick WalkerParticipant
Or they Kansas does the same thing to them that they did to us, same controversial call, same last minute win. Then, they get boat raced in the CCG and miss the playoffs entirely
-
The Miami UteParticipant
Nice! I like the way you think Rick…

I wouldn’t sign up for an account on one of their boards so that i could argue incessantly that it was the correct call. I’m almost completely sure that I wouldn’t. But I’d think about it.,,

@MiamiUte:
1 plays winner of 8 vs 9 at Rose Bowl
2 plays winner of 7 vs 10 at Sugar Bowl
3 plays winner of 6 vs 11 at Peach Bowl
4 plays winner of 5 vs 12 at Fiesta Bowl-

Thanks for the update.

I think the top 4 seeds will dictate the QF bowl game location. Since it’s Oregon, they would likely be placed in the Rose. BYU likely in Rose. Texas to Sugar, Miami to Peach. If it was Ohio St at 1, that might be Rose (kind of homage to B1G tie in) but if Texas #1, could still be Sugar.
From the site
The selection committee will assign the four highest-ranked conference champions to Playoff Quarterfinals hosted by bowls. This will be done in consideration of historic bowl relationships, then in consideration of rankings. For example, if the Sugar Bowl hosts a Playoff Quarterfinal and the SEC champion is ranked No. 1 and the Big 12 champion is ranked No. 3, the SEC champion would be assigned to the Sugar Bowl and the Big 12 champion would be assigned elsewhere.-
2008 National ChampParticipant
Did you mean BYU gets the Fiesta?
