They really don’t have much, and nothing close to what I expect is really going on. We are talking about loans of several hundred dollars here! 0ne of the biggest things on the report is a 9k predraft loan to kyle kuzma. There are much bigger amounts to much bigger names out there and they only seem to have one of them (70k to Dennis Smith)
What really makes me feel this much ado about nothing for Utah is that Hughes just did his big audit. You’re telling me that TDS honk didn’t find something like this in his audit?
Of course an audit would find no record of this – no money went through the school. It simply went from one individual to another. If anything, the lack of it being found in an audit basically proves the program is clean. Kuz, not so much.
I would think it rare that any illicit payment would go through a university’s accounts, so I don’t think it proves anything one way or another. Most common are in-kind gifts (like cars, use of car), sham employment (student paid as a ghost employee) or simply a fat envelope handed from a booster to a player.
