From an article I saw on yahoo. How’d Pat Narduzzi turn around Pitt? NIL cuts, tough conversations and an offensive overhaul. ‘S*** I have to clean house’

This seems like the smartest thing anyone in NIL has done. Paying for performance and rewarding after he season makes people hungry and it entitled. I hope Pitt does well and other schools take notice.
Utah fans can’t be the only one wondering if big NIL money is ruing the teams. Florida Safe and Oklahoma State fans are as disappointed as we are. Mine not Florida Star fans, they have to be the most disappointed fan base in CFB.

Thanks Tony for linking! You don’t get enough credit for keeping the lights on and the trains running

Here is the problem:
Whitt won’t change. He knows he needs to, which is why he brought on Troy Taylor and BJ and Erickson and DC. He knows what type of offense he should be running, but the second that offense has any sort of hiccup, he shuts it down, reverts back to three yards and a cloud of dust.
He went back to Ludwig because he was tired of bringing in spread guys, having it not work, not allowing them to do their thing and leaving/being forced out. Ludwig knew what Whitt wanted and did what Whitt wanted.
Whitt can do all the things Narduzzi has done, hell he’s tried everything other than the NIL, but it won’t work because Whitt won’t allow it to work.
Whitt wants to run the ball, protect his defense, get TO’s and get quick scores off TO’s. That’s all the offense he wants. And if the defense doesn’t get turnovers and we can’t run the ball…well you can’t do anything else because Whitt is not ok with doing anything else.
For the record: Utah is 70th in TO’s/game and BYU is 3rd. Utah averages 1.3 a game and 1.0 the last three games. BYU averages 2.4/game and 2/7 the last three.
As long as Whitt won’t budge on the offense, if we can’t run the ball and create turnovers, we will suck offensively.

Whitt is a control freak! The mantra, we don’t adapt to you, you adapt to us mentality no longer applies when you’re not transparent with your players and the fanbase. It’s primarily because of Whitt that the program is in disarray.
If they lose the rest of the games, he will be the one to blame for all of it for his lack of leadership and properly managing his program. He should have known better as a head coach with 20 years of experience then to put all his eggs in one basket, but NIL ruined that and I would say he’s a big victim of that. Hell, I didn’t know NIL is one of the reasons why Isaac Wilson came to Utah. Not all of it was because of family connections, but that he was promised certain things and why we see him playing more instead of the other QBs (Rose and Huard).

I wish we could get three years a play.

Saw that and thought the same, I hope other teams are paying attention and this becomes the norm going forward.

I love how many dudes here can read Whitt’s mind

Don’t have to read minds.
When someone shows you who they are, believe them.
The lack of QB development, consistent offensive production, or modernization over 20 years speaks volumes… as does the defensive production and program stability.
