“The SEC, as you might have heard, has an eight-game conference schedule. It also owns eight of the last 10 national championships.” ~LINDSAY SCHNELL

And that’s just a undeniable fact but what’s sad is Schnell is saying that the Pac-12 may have to lower its standards to backdoor their way into the CFP’s because guess what, Pac-12 is hard.

They should force all P5 Conferences to play 9 conference games. The SEC should have nothing to worry about because the the bottom half of the SEC is a joke. Any gain in win loss record for a PAC 12 team playing an 8 game Conference schedule would be more than offset by the inherent media bias for the CFP. They just really need to expand the play-off to 8 teams.

And if the PAC-12 went to an 8 game conference schedule, that would open a window for an end of season game against BYU. BYU plays all its tough games early, so they would be relatively healed up by the time the Utah game rolled around. In contrast, Utah would be beat up and playing a meaningless game. I would not expect good outcomes from that scenario.

You could add the TDS but that doesn’t mean that you have to play them at the end of the year WestSlope. Let them get their asses kicked early on by Utah. Utah has bigger things to worry about. I’m in the group of not ever playing them again and why do they deserve to be the last game on Utah’s schedule, they’re not Notre Dame. Playing them early, or even the first week of October is all they deserve, nothing more.
