In the Oregonian…
Will they game the schedule to try to get a 7-0 contender??
-
NarfUteParticipant
No, because the conference head office is inept

The SEC took care of their elite programs with this year’s schedule. They might get TWO entrants into the playoffs.
On a side note: did anyone catch yesterday’s interview by Bill Riley with the new Pac12 Director of Football Operations, Merton Hanks? When he got hired for this new position I was intrigued. Maybe this is what the conference needs to get our football programs back on track I thought. After listening to the interview I came away thoroughly discouraged. I don’t know what I really expected… I mean this guy has to be handcuffed by Uncle Larry, but I was so hoping to hear him admit the problems with our national perception, our horrible refereeing situation, our lack of playoff participants, our lack of nationwide TV exposure and our scheduling marquis teams and games after everyone back east goes to bed. There was none of that. It was rah-rah we’re in great shape and will continue to do the same old thing. Until Scott is replaced (and I think he will be soon), we will continue to lag behind the other P5 conferences in so many facets. It’s disappointing, but I guess that’s what I get for hoping.
I still love this conference and am so glad we’re part of it. It’s just that it could SO much better and everyone knows it.

I listened and yeah it was bad. He even went so far as to talk about how great of a job Larry Scott is doing…

UtesbyfiveParticipant
C’mon man. Who comes into a new job and s**ts on their boss in one of their first interviews? You can’t write him off for just that. Now if he says he wants to keep the status quo, that’s a problem.

That’s sort of what was conveyed, Utesbyfive. I remember thinking that if everything was so great why did we need him?
-
Central Coast UteParticipant
I wouldn’t think he should come in and s**t on him. But dont come in blowing smoke. We’ve all been watching what’s going on and it hasn’t been good. So to tell it is good, is BS. Yeah don’t s**t on Larry Scott, but maybe tell us what’s going to get better without s**tting on him.

Crossover game predictions
USC vs Oregon St
Oregon vs Arizona
Arizona St vs Washington St
Washington vs Colorado
Utah vs Stanford
Cal vs UCLAThe conference will go out of its way to help Oregon and SC

UtesbyfiveParticipant
Very very possible. If we hope to have a team considered for the CFP it may have to be undefeated USC or Oregon.

Utah skips Oregon and Stanford if this is a normal season. I think they intend to keep it this way. What it should be: USC vs Stanford, Cal vs UCLA, Oregon vs Arizona, Arizona St vs Oregon St, Washington vs Colorado, Utah vs Washington St. What Larry Scott will do: USC vs Washington, Oregon vs Utah, Arizona St vs Cal. Bye bye CFP.

I don’t care how much returning production they have, USC’s still coached by Helton & we get them @ RES, where they’ll have to deal w/our weather/altitude….I’m confident we’ll beat them again @ home.

Since there will be no fans and I will therefore not be in attendance, I hope for an allout blizzard.
