I say NO, Anderson will not be on the short list. I’d put my money on him promoting Shah.

If I had a vote – it would be for Weddle.

RiseasUtesParticipant
Maybe as DB coach in place of Shah, Shah needs to be DC.

UteThunderParticipant
Yep, if Anderson comes back, I would bet it is as a position coach, consultant, or anlayst. He will not be the DC. Too much baggage at this point.

Can Urban succeed in the NFL? One of the greatest college coaches ever, but will that translate to the pros?
-
Ghost of the HEBParticipant
Didn’t translate well for Saban
-
UteThunderParticipant
I think this is why Urban is even considering it. If he can be successful in the NFL, he will separate himself from great college coaches like Saban and Spurrier who were great in college but sucked in the pros.

Urban is a different breed of human. I don’t think he has the ability to comprehend failure. He is considered one of the GOATs but I think he doesn’t get the credit he deserves. He made serious waves with Bowling Green for Pete’s sake. He’s been an unquestionable success at every stop, and he has either resurrected or taken the team to new heights everywhere he’s been.
I would bet he will do whatever he has to in order to be successful. He will cheat if he has to.

or Spurrier, but it did for Pete Caroll (the second time, not the first)
-
RustyShacklefordParticipant
Well Pete was basically treating USC like an NFL team with all the players having salaries and what not…

Jimmy’s Johnson is probably the most successful college/NFL coach. Championship for Miami U and two for the Dallas Cowboy lads.

I don’t know about Whitt, but I’m not in favor of bringing GA on as DC. He left OSU and USU as dumpster fires. If I had my way, promote Shah and look for a new safeties coach. Weddle has already been mentioned and I think that would be a great hire if he is interested.

I will believe Morgan is gone when I see it. Especially as a DC in the NFL. No doubt urban has interest. But I very much doubt he would name him DC. And if not DC why would Morgan uproot his family and leave
-
pedroParticipant
GA is a good DC. His record proves that. He’s just a lousy HC. That’s fine, we don’t need a HC
-
UtesbyfiveParticipant
Gary Anderson is an unreliable timebomb. I frankly don’t want him back with the Utes in any capacity.
